Ich bitte die Video- und Performancekünstlerin Sarah Boulter für einen Nachmittag an der Garderobe des Schaupielhauses in Chemnitz zu arbeiten. Von einem zuvor festgelegten Standort aus, begleite ich Ihre Handlungen mit einer Videokamera.

I would like to tell you now about my idea: I have seen some works especially the video “wildlife” from you . It remains me of one of my jobs doing beside of my artificial work. These jobs are living wage. Beginning 2009 I have made a photoseries, which thematise these kind of works I do, to earn money for paying rent, paying for food etc…
I saw you, how you act in front of the camera and immediately the thought came to me that I can ask you, if you are interested in the following experiment: I imagine, that you do for one day my job as a cloakroomstaff in the theater in chemnitz. I have a service on 20.10.2019 from 1.45pm until 5pm. I will take a movie or a photo of you, how you do my work (taking clothes, hanging clothes on the numbered hooks, giving receipts to the guests, etc.). The title would be: Alter Ego. Alter ego refers to a person who lives two different lives. It is a person with whom someone is closely connected, often together complementary. I think these are a very appropriate story of the artistic exchange. It also indirectly refers to your work assignment, i think.

Thanks for your exciting email! I think your ideas are great, I would absolutely love to do the cloakroom job. Let me know if I need you to provide you with any info for getting the permits. Yes I also think our two ideas work harmoniously together.
